Re: Things that are really grinding your gears
Except that it was on a section of the site that is on an older disused server, and clearly the file had been not touched for awhile, and it had been pasted from a Microsoft Word document and for some reason there was a space between every character in the entire file (including the spaces - so yes, this meant every space between words was three spaces).
The alt text on the single image (our logo) was, and I quote, "Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: Description: 2010leftlogo-block1".
The entire thing was created inside a three-column table... two columns of which had nothing inside them except... an empty table on the left column. With the width/height of each cell designated by inches rather than pixels. And all the dimensions were set to "0" anyway, and there was no content in any of the cells.
Fortunately I have fun coworkers so I was just like "OMG WHAT ELDRITCH CREATURE SUMMONED THIS MONSTROSITY" and then pasted bits of code to them all afternoon as I was cleaning it up so we could MST it together. (File size dropped by more than half when I got rid of all the CSS classes that uh basically were the same as standard default browser text settings.)
