Are you expecting these comic book characters to act like actual adults?

Because from what I've seen, depending on the writer, they only act responsibly and/or rationally if it's convenient to the plot. Otherwise, they let their neuroses, insecurities, cultural differences, communications issues, and personal issues have free reign. (Though that can be said for a lot of characters, comic book or no.)
