It's perhaps a co-incidence that there was a pie secret regarding X Files over the weekend as well, but I'm honestly here for more "this show/film made me want to try this food or made me like this food" secrets. They're really wholesome.

Part of me feels like I really wouldn't have minded them keeping that, because it's not like it would've been the exact same circumstances.

At the same time, I read a book toward the end of last year about the rotation of the Earth gradually slowing to the point the Earth eventually stopped turning and all the fallout/human cost that'd cause due to parts of the globe being uninhabitable. And part way through the book I thought "wow, I was really NOT in the mood for this right now" - so I get why a huge studio would scrap it's plague idea. I wasn't upset by it (after all, I chose that book) but I definitely wasn't as into it as I would've been in other years.

My way of dealing with the fucking dumb Civil War storyline is to decide Zemo was behind the whole thing as part of his No Superheroes deal - keep them arguing and let them take each other out. Yes, I think superheroes should be accountable, no, I don't think the Sokovia Accords as presented by the US Military would have done that.

I don't think I would have enjoyed a plague storyline, but all they needed to do to fix the storyline they had was to be clearer about what the problem was and why Karli was trying to fix it that way. It did all come together in the end, but a dash of exposition in episode 1 or 2 would have helped a lot.

As soon as General Ross appeared I wondered how I was supposed to take the Accords being completely legit seriously, it should have been an entirely new character if they were actually meant to be a reasonable. But no, General fucking Ross trying to sell superhero accountability? The man who okayed the injection of knock-off super-solider serum into a subordinate, which created Abomination, just because he wanted to catch Bruce? This man happily tears up everywhere he goes just to catch ONE PERSON, and I'm supposed to think he should be listened to? Pull the other one movie.

But then this movie was only made because Marvel wanted their hero vs hero movie to compete with BvS so it's no surprise that the main conflict of the story was all over the place.

I do agree with superhero oversight and accountability, just not what the movie was trying to put out because again: General fucking Ross. Also the governments of the MCU 'verse just generally being pretty evil?

Yup.

He was all for the accords until they got in his way from doing something and then he just fucks off and ignores them. Either oversight matters or it doesn't movie, you can't have your character vouching for that DISREGARD the notion in the same movie just because he feels like it.

Yeah, I loved the show, but the central conflict with the Flag Smashers was the weakest link. When I heard they had to re-write that plot halfway through filming, so much made sense all of a sudden. That said, considering all the changes they had to make and all the hurdles they faced filming, the end product was amazing. One of the reasons I really hope they get another season, because I want to see what this team can do in better/normal circumstances.

That is why they had to yeet Bruce and Thor out of the picture. There is NO way that Bruce and Thor would side with the US government and General fucking Ross.
