I did tell him months ago. He turned me down, but it was within the last few months that he started to let me in and allowed me to talk with him on a more personal level. Then something happened and he's pulled back again. I feel like my heart is being torn in two. It's a new feeling for me, I've never fallen for someone online before.

Oh OP, I'm so sorry. In that case, I think you need to look after your own mental health primarily. He may not realise that he's messing with your feelings but he is. If I were you I would ask him if anything has changed. If it hasn't then nonny, it doesn't sound like this friendship is good for you. I hope you find a way to move forward that's good for you, anon.
