Fitz has appeared in Big Finish, and I think there's been a few other EDA references, so I'm going to take the EDAs as canon because it's my favourite DW property, fight me.

I'd kill for Faction Paradox to turn up in the show, or something very heavily inspired by them.

(What Night of the Doctor did to 8's characterisation is my favourite thing that got retconned. Why was there a secret regeneration. Why.)
