What is everyone doing this weekend?

Tomorrow is my nephew's birthday party. We are going bowling and out for a birthday lunch. The kids he invited (and said they were coming) better show up. :< Sunday, I don't plan on doing anything.

Tomorrow I finish packing. Also cleaning out my car. Sunday I drive to Dallas with my kitty. When I get there, I'll probably crash. And take a hot bath because I'm already super sore and I still have a lot left to do.

Hopefully taking some walks in the nice weather, trying to think of a cosplay I actually have that I can do a shoot in by myself (or enlist a local vaccinated photographer friend) without too much difficulty since this should have been ACen weekend. I just ordered some Pote Usa Loppy bunnies to make up for the ones I would have been seeking out to buy in the dealer's room as a birthday present to myself. ;)

If all else fails will probably keep picking away at cleaning bits of my house. My bathroom and hallway no longer look like disaster areas, but every other room is so much larger and I just get overwhelmed even trying to figure out where to start... but if I can get my living room straightened up and get some floor space back maybe I'll have the spoons/motivation to get back to work on a NEW cosplay.

Tomorrow I'm going to get my second covid shot at 8 am.

Then my husband and me are going to the bookstore later on and hanging out for an hour or two. Maybe buy some flowers if they still have them.

I've done all my work for the week!
I don't know what I'll do tomorrow but a different group of friends from my normal tabletop group is doing a homebrew based on the warhammer 40k universe. I'm going to be a gun dwarf who is... very odd by dwarf standards.
actually maybe I'll use tomorrow to study warhammer 40k then.

long weekend (pentecost) and apparently outside food Services will be allowed from monday on.

I'll go to the Farmers market, buy fancy cake, groceries for the weekend, maybe some pretty flowers, otherwise stay home.
I still want to finish crooked kingdom and i recently received a new jigsaw puzzle i wanna make.

also keeping an eye on my kitties. one has a lung issue/ cough and the other has a gum inflammation. both get antibiotics and are cranky now bc tummy issues. :(

I'm going to be finishing this monstrosity of a fic I started. I sat down today and now I am 9+k words and counting and it's still not done. I want to get this draft done though so I can edit and fine-tune tomorrow, but Christ I need to sleep at some point.

I'll be cleaning house, catching up on sleep, worrying about an injured pet (broken beaked bird, sigh) and trying out the wifi hotspot I checked out from the library.

Walking to my friend's house and watching the Eurovision final, and then I'm sleeping there.

It's such a tight year this year both in the sense that I don't know who will win AND I don't know who I want to win! I'll decide after watching the live performances.

The Iceland band is in isolation in their hotel due to Covid and can't compete live (though their song is still in the contest.) My heart breaks for them waiting two years, getting all the way to Rotterdam and then not getting to be in the big show. ☹️

I also love the segments on SortedFood where they try stuff like pretentious ingredients, food trends, or cooking gadgets. https://www.youtube.com/c/SORTEDFood/videos

I used to like Elders React on the big react channel (can't recall the name) but they stopped doing it so I stopped watching them.

I recently got into a newer Kpop idol group so I've discovered a lot of Kpop reaction channels and I love a lot of them. My favorites are when the Kpop Reactor gets their non-Kpop friends/family to react with them and Dancers reacting to Kpop dances. I also love going on a journey with them and they start picking their biases ("OK so you guys keep telling me that the guy I really like is named BX? BX killed it in this dance video too! I guess BX is my bias.")

I also watched someone react to Umbrella Academy. He's reacted to a lot of other shows and movies, but his UA reactions were what I'd go to his channel for.

What are your least favorite B-Plots in movies?

Dream secret

I had a dream that I submitted a secret all about how much I hated when media portrayals of Ancient Rome got a specific detail wrong about gladiator fights. Apparently the common idea of the thumbs-up/down gesture is that up means “you live” and down means “you die”, but I knew (I have no idea if my subconscious is right about this or just making shit up) that it was the other way around: thumbs up meant “go ahead, kill him” and down meant “nah, let him live”. I was really worked up about it, like it was a huge pet peeve for me, someone who in real life doesn’t know or care.

It’s not the best “submitting a secret” dream I’ve ever had (that award goes to the one about Kim Jong-il porn...if you remember, you remember), but it’s pretty funny to me in hindsight.
