Congratulations to Italy for winning Eurovision! See you in Rome next year! (Hopefully Francesco Gabbani will be involved somehow.)

Well deserved win! Lots of good acts though this year. :) Even the UK's was okay, if not memorable. Felt bad for their artist though.

Really pleased for Italy even though it wasn't my fave. Of the rockier tracks I preferred Finland but am not mad it went to Italy.

I loved Iceland but thought their entry that never was last year was better so didn't expect them to win tonight.

Feel like the only person on Earth who thought Switzerland and France were boring. Glad Switzerland was beaten by the public vote.

I'm from the UK and thought our entry was as uninspired and meh as usual but don't think the artist deserved that. He's perhaps the unfortunate target of misaimed rage/indifference.

Really strong final overall this year tbh!

You're not alone. France and Switzerland were tedious. Loved the Ukraine personally, but generally pretty strong final overall.

Ooh yeah, Ukraine was another of my favourites. But they just didn't get enough points to be really in the mix in the end, which was sad.

I am very much a full-blown happy cheese or off-the-rails bonkers Eurovision fan so rarely have time for ballads/ballad-adjacent songs unless they really grab me, which Switzerland and France didn't.

James Newman took it well though! What a champ!

Think anyone who represents the UK now has to have a thick skin. He can hold his head up that it 100% wasn't him.

I really didn't rate Italy's song, or most of the top finishers tbh. My favourite songs of the night were the Netherlands and Sweden.

They deserved it!

I liked Finland and Germany too.

But France and the UK were incredibly boring. Couldn't have they found something /someone better?

And can France stop sending singers that can only sing in French already? If I remember correctly, they've never had anyone sing in English, have they?

They're never likely to. Their first reaction to Brexit was 'now the official language of the EU can become French!'. It's a huge sore point with them that English is the international language and they're very bitter about it.

Frqnce sticking to it's own language is good. if it was up to me everybody would sing in their mother tongue ;) Makes it tad bot more interesting, tbh, and what other ocassion you have to listen to some less well-known languages?

The puppet hand of Germany gave me a good laugh as well. You may not have won Eurovision, Germany, but you got to flip all of Europe! A+!

It was the best!

I don't ever watch it, but a discord I am in a lot of people do so they were linking me to some of the songs. I watched Italy first and after watching like 5 or 6 others I was like, "How on earth did Italy win???"

They had a great live show, and people were starving for rock.
