Re: Moving out advice?

Is this an urgent situation where you need to get out of where you're at right away? If not, it sounds like you're getting way ahead of yourself. Step back and figure out where you would like to move, and what sort of assistance you would qualify for as someone new to the state (especially important if state assistance pays part of your current living expenses). Once you've pinned it down, you can start looking at rental boards tailored to the area you're looking to move to.

Somewhat urgent. I've been trying for a long time to get away from an unhealthy home environment, and have called 211 phone numbers to ask for advice about how to find housing as a disabled person. So far, the only that I've heard so far are section 8 housing vouchers(?), and the struggle to apply over and over again for each location that can have years long wait times.

I admit that I find filling out applications to be demoralizing, and that I'm not sure if this is the only chance I have to get into a better home situation. If anyone knows a bit more info, please let me know. I think that splitting an apartment with a roommate sounds quicker and doable.

I don't even know rental boards are tbh.

SA

I'll say that it's not a life-threatening situation, it's just not great for my mental health.
