103. This. I'm so sick of people dismissing entire genres (not just anime, I'm so fucking tired of defending scifi and YA novels on a regular basis) based on stupid pretentious bullshit.

132. WTF, people give Ken DID in fic? The entire fucking second half of the series was entirely painted and given some real depth by the fact that IT WAS KEN WHO DID THESE THINGS. What the hell, what the hell, what the hell.

It's the whole "he's not evil, he's my woobie" thing, isn't it. GDIT that trope pisses me off. Ken's story is arguably the most intricate and interesting in Digimon, way to totally dismiss all his character development.

It's particularly frustrating that the people who do it are Ken fans. It's like, if you love him... how could you just block out or ignore his whole development? His development which hinges on the fact that yeah he kinda did all that shit.

Sadly, yes. Back when I used to actually read the fanfic, I recall a few fics that had a really novel twist on it, but yeah, most of them were either a cheap excuse for mental self-cest or writers who obviously didn't watch the show very well.

I honestly think that, other than Bushido/Graham (with one added Sasuke/Sasuke fic this one time) I haven't read any selfcest in at least the last two years. Possibly more.

As someone who ended up being a sickening, pathetic Daiken fangirl, I must say that I agree with you.

...Except for the last episode, where they took the names of everyone in the series, pulled them out in pairs, and decided those people were going to get married. WTF, ending. Seriously, I'm still not over you.

Well, everyone agrees on that :P Seriously, Yolei(dubnames=habit)/Ken? Where did that come from? And I don't even ship Daiken ~~though I see the subtext, I'm not a moron~~. I will admit however that I love Ken as a PI and would watch him and Yolei fight crime (implications that she's a housewife, begone!). (also, why did the dubbers think kids could handle Yolei but not Miyako, and Kari but not Hikari? Wth?)

Obviouisly, because East Asian comes in only one brand: what we say it is.

I think my biggest wtf was that Hikari and Takeru didn't end up together. SERIOUSLY, WHAT WAS THAT SHIT. As for Miyako-- she had a crush on EVIL INSANE GENIUS Ken, not normal Ken. Where is the logic???

Daiken for life, bb. I know there isn't much produced anymore, but it still makes me squee, and reading over the old fics makes me just as happy as it did the first time. ♥

It's rather tragic for me, since I don't like. Pretty much any of the old fics produced for it during the golden years (*COUGH*). I mostly have to just write it for myself these days and hope someone will be inspired to see that the fandom still lives and will write some stuff too. :|

Really? :o I loved and still love Sugah's stuff, and Vain's work (though generally gen) is some of my favourite. I also really liked ainokitsune's fics (though I can't go to look at them right now because my browser is fucked all to hell).

I don't know any of the fics by name or author, so I really have no idea what you're talking about. XD In general, though, I either found the prose to be God-awful, or the characters completely OOC, or a tragic mix of both. But like, if you look at the recs over at the Daisuke/Ken ship manifesto, I couldn't get through most of them because I just thought they were so terrible and not at all the characters I loved and it made me sad that the fandom thought these were it's best works.

I do! I can. Proudly say I take up most of the first page of that comm at the moment, lmfao. :(
