I honestly don't know the distinction you're making. are the people above right and it's a depth of feeling issue?

Not to bring up the "can characters be child-coded" debate again, but...damn. Is that the character OP? And she's mod-canonically 20?

I don't know this media, but I sorta agree. A lot of media says "logical" when they actually mean "factual for plot reasons and never at any other time"

The "You're Wrong About Podcast" ep on Diana is interesting in this vein.

Just googling it, the character seems to be a run of the mill catgirl, looking anywhere between 17 and mid-twenties. It's not the character in the secret's picture.

I mean, at least you have something to eat. Which is more than could be said for communism.

If someone told me "That's a bummer" when my cat died, I would've punched them.

Lois Duncan books! Particularly Gallow's Hill (which has a film adaptation already, it's just not very good). I feel like, in today's time, the book's underlying themes of mob mentality and falling for propaganda could be super interesting in the hands of a competent filmmaker. There's also a book of hers about femininism in the 70s, I can't remember the name of it, but I'd love to see that one as well.

The “I’m twenty!” pic is some hentai character. She’s a popular joke on some parts of the Internet, e.g. following her with a pic of Cole Phelps going “Doubt.” I just used her for the meme.

I didn't realise people viewed bummer as a strong sad feeling. I meant that the episode didn't make me cry or emotional like the reactions I keep seeing. I literally didn't care about the dog.

Isn't Mrissi just a run of the mill catgirl waifu? Irc one of the possible endings in the mod includes keeping her as a pet/slave.

Re: OP here

Bummer is an expression of disappointment, not sadness, and almost no one views “bummer” as a strong emotional response. Its just that all three people who do are in this thread. There’s a reason you can’t buy sympathy cards that say What a bummer :(

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 11:36 am (UTC)(link)
I’m guessing you’re much younger than most of the people in this thread because this was literally world news when it was happening. The royals entire function in the modern world is as a tax-payer funded tourist attraction, which makes their private lives” even less private than most politicians’, which are less private than you seem to think they are if you find anything bizarre about this thread.

. . . That was NOT part of the fanfic I’m reading.

Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark ...there was a movie in 2019 and it's supposedly getting a sequel. The 2019 movie includes Harold, the Pale Lady (The Dream), the Jangly Man (What Do You Come For?), the Big Toe corpse, plus spiders (The Red Spot).

Yeah, or honestly in this fandom I could just be like "takes place during ending" and anyone who's played the game knows what's up, hahah. This game is brutal. (I mean there's also the brief mention of the - again, canon - suicide pact that's about to go down.)

But then I have a few people who I've managed to get kind of invested in my OTP even though they haven't played the game, and although they've probably GUESSED by now, I never actually wrote about the deaths since they actually were shown in canon and thus it was already out there. :P I suppose "grief" is a good tag for this one too since the details are all off-screen in the past or future somewhere.

Yup this.

I feel sorry for him. He did have feelings for her. Being around when it all happened, she was definitely a young woman thrown into an impossible position. But Charles was far more affectionate with Diana than depicted in the show. His sons aren't estranged from him, which says a lot.

+1

perfect example of why i really can't stand biopics or historical fiction about real people. we have no idea if what these show present are even close to the truth, and yet millions of people will take it as such just because it was on TV. it's creepy as shit.

Oh fuck off, you're why people don't take socialism seriously.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Jesus Christ, you're insufferable.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Nice reach. OP never said they felt like they were interacting with BTS. Unless you think everyone who buys celebrity merchandise thinks that way.

(Anonymous) 2021-06-10 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I think McD's is gross too, I can't stand most of the food there. When I went on vacation in Japan, one of my taxi drivers commented that McDonald's had bad meat as a McD's delivery scooter drove by. I couldn't help but agree.

The fries and ice cream are pretty good.

I'd love a newer(and frankly better) adaptation of Summer of Fear and Stranger with My Face!

(I probably read that wrong, and you weren't talking about interacted with BTS themselves. Whoops)
