Ask yours!

Has anyone here ever worked on one of those scanlation teams? If so, what was your experience? Did it help you with any future art related endeavours?

I remember working for a while on cleaning up scans. Cleaning up scans, specially if the pages aren't exactly hq or are very, VERY bright are a nightmare to clean up. I also remember filling up speech bubbles (I was really anal and tried to keep the text the same size and centered around the bubble) and helped once make a translator clear so the text was more fluid.

It was ok, I guess. All I know is that the scanlation team broke up and I never heard of them again.

Slow burn romance question

(Anonymous) 2021-06-27 11:24 am (UTC)(link)
Does it still count as a slow burn romance if the slow burn is them falling in love but they have a hell of a lot of sex on the way?

It would count for me, because I love stories about FWBs who catch feelings.

It can, yeah. One of my favorite arranged marriage fics does this, although the fic doesn't end when they realize they love each other.

That sounds amazing. Don't suppose you'd be willing to share which fic that is?

I don't think I would personally tag it as slow burn, as that would feel a bit misleading. But I feel like most people who love slow burn probably also love this sort of thing. I know I do. I would probably be a bit inventive with my tags for something like this, and maybe go with something like, "Sexual fast burn," coupled with, "Emotional slow burn." Or, "Falling in love," coupled with "Feelings slow burn." Or maybe, "They're very good at sex," coupled with, "But not so good at communicating." Basically whatever fits the specific scenario/characters.
