I’ve never seen the British version, but I was obsessed with the American version of Antiques Roadshow when I was a kid (we only got like, four channels and PBS was one of them). I think them not showing the description and item worth would have annoyed me too.

PBS!!!

Antiques Roadshow did a great job of that + the decade/era the item was from before showing the current market valuation.

It was also the place that learned how to check if things might have value/learned a great deal about furniture design lol. I love that show.
