I wasn't thrilled to hear about a second season because the first one ended so beautifully. It's so rare for shows to have a satisfying, happy ending and it meant so much to me. I didn't want any more "canon" to shatter that.

However, as a huge John Finnemore fan, as soon as I saw he was cowriting a lot of my trepidation dissolved. John is wonderful with character development and an astute judge of human nature, as well as being very funny. I'm counting on him to make it worth it.

John Finnemore made me waver in my nonenthusiasm as well! Like, on one hand, I'm still annoyed that they're continuing a story that was wrapped up in such a satisfying way and where one half of the original writing team passed away, but on the other hand I really want it to be amazing so that more people know about and appreciate just how much of a comedic genius Finnemore is!

Yeah, I'm still mostly unconvinced, but hearing Finnemore was involved gave me hope it would be worthwhile.
