I... can't... stop... listening.... to... Bootylicious....

103. It's called presentation and association. Most of us are exposed to history with dry facts and boring history teachers. Actually, if it wasn't Carmen Sandeigo, I wouldn't like history although I was always a A/A+ student in history from elementary to college due to my talent for memorization. Hetalia just reminded me how much I fell out of discovering other country's history, being absorbed in other subject, mostly Black History. Plus I like the idea of how history can affect one person who happens to be an personified avatar of a country. And I'm a sucker for history lulz.

Humans judge on presentation so much it affects our mindset on the subject until a more influencing factor comes along that might change our judgment. Like someone would hate Math so much but Sudoku might open the door to it. If I haven't been taught to think math problems as jigsaw puzzles by my aunt, I prolly wouldn't enjoy it in general. That's why I adored trigonometry (especially trig proofs) so much in high school~! Changing the perspective can make a world of difference and open a doors to something you never believe that you ever love.

Plus, I wish people stop assuming that the Nation-tans in Hetalia do everything, if anything they presented as high-ranking officers and historical figures shown up in the series multiple times. Damn.

108. ... Why are all of them hot? So different than the spreads I've seen of the manga....

109. I think it's ultra creative and cute... and possibly yummy. I know some fans in some of the fandoms I'm in do that and I envy them for it since I'm no wizard in the kitchen unless it's Thanksgiving dinner.

117. That's what I love about Tohru, despite the fandom's cry of Mary Sue, although I always thought her endless optimism was part of a mask though, to get over the pain of losing her mother and her insecurity. But I love she struggled and grew strong in small yet significant ways. It's just sad that the manga fell so flat on its face towards the end though.

126. One blowup we happened to only hear about and he's a primadonna? While his reaction was "WTF?", it's pretty understand why he might've done it. And people need to stop using the faulty justification "it's just a sci-fi movie!" doesn't mean no one can take the acting seriously. He probably need to dial the seriousness down. Plus, he's human, he's apt to blow up time to time. And he apologized (and say the PR made him say it is a moot point to peruse lately since we don't know what really happened there, only that we know there was some rant going on.

130. I hope the both of them die at other's hand. I don't mean that in a bad way either. Yeah, Sasuke forgiving everything is a sorta bullshit resolution. No doubt it'll happen.

132. That's why people have to make an e-gathering of femslash fans in a fandom. I still trying to write a Hitman Reborn femslash fic and give a boost to the yuri comm but I really don't have a clue where to start. orz.

133. I'm gonna try it anyway because I like Eliza Dushku.

139. I like Haruhi because of those traits mixed some of her good qualities.

141. ಠ_ಠ Dude, you need to chill out. Fandom isn't serious business like that.

143. Maybe it's me, but I thought that was going on from what I hear. Personally, I want to see it because I ADORE ADORE ADORE the character designs.

151. I hope you don't drink because that would make you hypocritical. And conservatives light it up too, y'know.

152. Nothing wrong with a puerile joke one in a while, OP. Although I myself snickered at the last line.

Sudoku really has little to do with math. It's a logic puzzle.

Math does logic, and who said it can't lead to loving numbers towards math?

Logic is its own subject, it's applied equally to philosophy and the liberal arts as it is to math. Syllogistic logic is often applied to math, but that doesn't make it strictly a type of math.

[identity profile] etherealtsuki.livejournal.com 2009-02-14 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't mean it's not math influenced, though.

Although there is some math that is used to construct a grid.

Yes, but being good at logic doesn't necessarily guarantee you'll be good at math. I made a B in a college course in elementary logic, but I failed general math, and ended up retaking it with a C.

Basically, loving Sudoku doesn't translate into a love of mathematics.

[identity profile] etherealtsuki.livejournal.com 2009-02-14 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe for you, it can for someone else. Humans have different triggers for different things. It might spark someone to know the math that exist within a Sudoku puzzle and how it can build one up.

Personally, I fail at calculus based logic if in a geometric form, mostly geometry was probably the only weak spot I had in math in general.

I wouldn't bother with her, she is so high and mighty. Every one has to learn just as she did, and like everything just as she does.

(Anonymous) 2009-02-16 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
She doesn't sound like that type of person to me.

109 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-14 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
It's not always that hard! Like the Mickey pancakes were simple. And for the bat cookies, I just used cookie cutters on some pillsbury dough. You do not need to be a wizard! Just have fun~.

I guess, I guess I overthink things and need more patience towards learning how to cook other than Thanksgiving dinner.

Just put one step in front of the other! And remember that things are actually more likely than not to turn out well. Unless you mix up the sugar and the salt. (...unless you are making the sea salt ice cream. then it's okay.)

130 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-14 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I hope the both of them die at other's hand.

This would be my ideal ending too, but I'm sure 99.9% of the fandom would disagree.

That's why it'll never happen unfortunately. I hate Shounen Jump if only that the fans over there have more of a say what happens in a series than they should (for example, Rurouni Kenshin).

Re: 109 OP

(Anonymous) 2009-02-14 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Oh lord, that ended sucked so bad. Which is sad because it was my favorite series up until the last story arch.

151 op

(Anonymous) 2009-02-14 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
Nope, don't drink either; I look down on drunks as well. :)

Should I have also mentioned everything else I look down on in my pot secret as well? Because weed and alcohol aren't the only things, ohhh no. The list includes drugs like crack cocaine, meth, pcp, painkillers, and even compressed air you can get at Office Depot/Max. Oh, didn't you know you can get high off that? Just put the little valve to your mouth, spray and suck! I judge the people who eat unhealthy and think they're doing nothing wrong (which is what, all of america? lololol) and gosh, what else? I hate people who are so passive-aggressive they state their negative opinion, then follow it up by covering their ass with "but you're entitled to your own opinion and I respect that." *ROLLS EYES*
