Finished my work week, and think I finished my first draft of the current fic project. It's about 20000 words now, but next step is to re-read it from the start and see what needs to go or what needs to be added, and I expect there will be an awful lot of editing one way or another. :P

Struggling through the middle part of Camp NaNo. I'm on target but the three-day lead I made in the first week has disappeared. It's frustrating but not surprising. I always struggle half way through. :/

IBS symptoms are clearing up and I feel better today. But God I wish I could turn my damn brain off sometimes. Ugh anxiety sucks.

Went to the park and played tennis. Very slowly getting better.

It's funny, because on the one hand, tennis has such a low barrier to entry. The court is free, there's usually one not too far away from any neighborhood where people live, and you can almost always find cheapo second hand rackets at thrift stores.

But on the other hand, the amount of time you have to put in before you can actually play a game of tennis is insane. We had to practice off of a backboard for several days just to get good enough to hit the ball back and forth on an actual court. And we've now played about twenty sessions on a court, just hitting the ball back and forth, and we are still nowhere near good enough to actually play against each other. We are very much still in the "playing cooperatively" stage.

I'm enjoying it. But it's kind of wild how long the learning curve is.

I'm just looking at all the video games available to me and all the fanfic on the internet and thinking "ugh what do I want to do"

Still just...getting over the fact I have a new car. Been dealing with a headache for two days. Announced the 'book club' for the subreddit I mod for. Hopefully I get some participation.

I had a big woodworking project with my dad who's in town. Got through it but it was a beast and now all the sawdust has me feeling like I have a full on cold or high allergy season. I took a couple allergy pills but they knock me the hell out. I'm trying not to fall asleep right now so I'm not up all night but it's going to be a struggle staying awake. Also, got some spoilers about Loki finale and :( nah don't like send it back please.

Stayed at work until 7:30 because it was the previous attorney's last day, so we went over every case with her. It finally hit me today that I'm really employed now. I'm really working as a full-time attorney now, doing exactly what I want to do. It came so fast I haven't really had time to process. But her leaving today, plus me getting my paycheck for my first week, made it finally feel real.

didn't sleep too well last night, so i'm exhausted. just taking my meds and then going to sleep.

Oh and I was thinking of watching It's Okay Not to be Okay since I'm in the mood for more sulking.

I wish I knew - I'm hoping to find employment before the year is out.
At minimum, when things are officially safer I would like to get my ears pierced.

Work. Seriously. i love what i do, and i'm doing what i love, and i finally have a job. Also the feeling when a case is concluded and I've been able to help a client. can't wait for that.

getting to know Dallas/the Dallas area, really making it a home. Getting out. meeting people. Making a life for myself outside my family.

I started to plan a big hair change before COVID and now I feel comfortable to go sit in a salon chair for a while. So that's going to happen soon.

The end of COVID for good. A nice blizzard of snow in Winter, or just before Winter starts. Beginning and being able to finish more books before year's end, because that means my attention span is back and here to stay, baby! My brother's tumor to keep on reducing in size and responding to meds. A visit to my sister's place to finally meet her brooding hens.

The American adaption of Death Note. My expectations weren't even that high but jesus christ was that a mess.

1. "All a dream" in Wizard of Oz.

2. Making the wicked witch of the west a hero in Wicked/making the Wizard a full-on villain

3. So many things in the Hobbit. just, so many things.

4. Several things in LOTR. Elrond's casting is a big one and the changes to his character. The whole look and feel where everything looks young and new rather than aged as it should. the changes to Faramir's character. Just, so many things.

5. Jurassic Park- bugs me that they changed Hammond's character. I liked the evil book version.

6. The change to the end of I Am Legend, which ruins the title and the story.

7. the fact that we've never had a good Wrinkle in Time adaption much less had any of the other books in the series adapted.
