I've certainly seen Americans try and argue that all Africa is black. Regardless of skin color, Americans are just about dumb about the rest of the world that way.

'Ancient Egyptians were black" is a specific historical theory based on specific historical evidence (it happens to be wrong, but that's not really germane to the point). It is not based in any way on the idea that all people in Africa are black. People who claim that ancient Egyptians were black, in general, understand that contemporary Egyptians are not black.
