Blacks think they were the real Ancient Egyptians or something

(Anonymous) 2021-07-20 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I've certainly seen Americans try and argue that all Africa is black. Regardless of skin color, Americans are just about dumb about the rest of the world that way.

No, arguments about the race of ancient Egyptians are a much more specific thing.

FS comments are really filling up my "general pop culture conversation" smashcut to "Americans are, tragically, too stupid to be allowed in this holy space" bingo card.

'Ancient Egyptians were black" is a specific historical theory based on specific historical evidence (it happens to be wrong, but that's not really germane to the point). It is not based in any way on the idea that all people in Africa are black. People who claim that ancient Egyptians were black, in general, understand that contemporary Egyptians are not black.

>Blacks
Yikes.

Blacks, whites, etc. problem?

(Anonymous) 2021-07-21 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
You know what? If you weren't 1. presuming what black people think, and then 2. belittling them for these thoughts you've decided they have, I would be inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt in your choice of language.

But you are, so nah, you're just racist.

Saying "whites" sounds sus too, so you've proven nothing except AYRT's point.

The Nubians certainly were, and there was a Nubian dynasty ruling as pharaohs for a while, to say nothing of the fact that next door neighboring countries tend to have a certain amount of cross-immigration and intermarriage along the borders. The primary ethnic group in ancient Egypt may not have been as generally dark as sub-saharan African ethnic groups often are, but they were certainly no kind of "white" as one considers a European to be.

Are you the anon who implied that they last two live action films set in ancient Egypt were racially correct(despite being full of white American/European actors), and that the people mad about the casting were dumb for thinking otherwise? It would track with your blatant racism, honestly.
