I like having feelings about fictional stories to a certain degree, but sometimes I get so invested in a random piece of fiction that I have emotions over it even when I’m not reading/watching it, and I really wish I could turn that off. I don’t need to be worrying about whether character B will ever forgive character A when I’m busy trying to get through my life.

I'm the same way, and I have been all my life. I remember being depressed for an entire school field trip as a kid because Character A betrayed Character B. The emotional attachments to characters and worlds is something I really wish I could have turn off when I have to live my life.

I'm like that too. It's so embarrassing to randomly remember that a character died and then start tearing up while eating lunch in the breakroom at work.
