Yeah and honestly that's how I feel about the whole trans athletes thing in general - if there is a problem in a given sport, leave it up to the people who are actually in charge of the sport to figure out the best way to address it for that sport. If you're trying to come in and get the government to preemptively ban all trans women, it feels like that's pretty transparently just about bigotry.

Yep. More sports should take a cue from boxing and stop just doing free for all competition. I'm fine with men vs women/mixed etc as long as they're competing against people of similar skill levels/weight or size classes etc when those things impact the outcome and can skew the results regardless of sex or gender.
