(Anonymous) 2021-08-01 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)I'm a cis woman and the worst assault I ever dealt with was from another cis woman, and while it's tempting sometimes to just hide in my house and never come out in case I get sexually harassed and assaulted by cis women, somehow I cope.
The problem with trans women raping cis women in women's prisons might actually be a thing, but there are already laws in place to prosecute rapists.
Rape is bad, shouldn't happen, and does not require that the perpetrator have a penis (or that the victim doesn't.) Barring trans women or even cis male guards and staff from women's prisons won't stop rape.
I won't say luckily because the only kind of luck involving rape is bad, but laws against rape exist. Preemptively banning trans women from women's prisons won't prevent rape and I would bet real money that putting trans women in cis men's prisons will definitely result in more rapes by cis men.
