Thanks for the advice - and my sympathies, both the situation and the regimen sound really rough :/ - but these days my lack of rest is because of either my physical pain from chronic illness, or at the moment, one of my bunnies being very sick and needing my help and comfort pretty much constantly. It's hard to get any sleep when you have trouble getting to sleep in less than an hour or so, but you're startled by sudden noise from a frightened animal every 5-15 minutes. (Though I did manage 4 hours last night, woooo. He just stayed next to my bed and didn't try to move around at all until I woke up and checked on him.)

Weirdly enough, the panic attacks in my sleep (and the panic attacks that lasted literally for days, and actually all panic attacks except those brought on by specific stimuli, and also migraines) stopped when I went on a low FODMAP diet, hoping it would help with the problems with my GI tract. It didn't, but the lack of panic attacks and migraines meant I've stuck with it. It is absolutely not what I was hoping for or expecting when I went to that diet, so it seems to genuinely have helped rather than be a placebo effect. o_o
