For fuck's sake, the bathroom thing is a) a complete red herring (male predators who want to get into women's bathrooms have less elaborate ways of getting in there) and b) people are much less good at reliably clocking trans women than they generally think, so it's also going to result in the assault or humiliation of cis women who are, for instance, butch, or cursed with facial hair, or are otherwise deemed to look too much like a man.

Morally speaking, it's no worse that it might happen to a cis woman than a trans woman, but it does illustrate how the panic about "protecting women" ends up hurting them too, whatever the "Gender Criticals" say.
