That's what I liked about Dr. Cox from Scrubs, that he was like a House who didn't always have the narrative on his side(sometimes). But even he suffers from me growing past thinking characters like him are awesome.

I think what saves Dr. Cox on Scrubs is that even when he's right the show never pretends that he's not an asshole or that he wouldn't be better off both professionally and personally if he'd get the fuck over himself for five minutes. House buys into the myth that asshole behavior is the price you pay for genius, and that got old about a million years ago.

The BBC Sherlock writers clearly never got that memo.

Oh man, they so deeply missed this memo.

I genuinely struggle to believe the writers were as enamored with and uncritical of Sherlock as they seem to have been. I just- like- really?
