Cartoons should just never mention age.

Yeah, I tend to agree. Just let them be whatever age the viewer thinks they are. It would make fandom discussion and fanfic characterization extremely...variable, but idk that might be kind of fun, in a total-shit-show sort of way.

That happened with something (I want to say Genshin Impact? but don't quote me on that) and fans got upset and started hounding the creative team, including voice actors who technically have no official say in what's canon, because they *needed* to know the characters' ages for shipping reasons and were very disturbed that the higher-ups wouldn't let tell them whether they could safely ship the characters without committing pedophilia.
