16 is grown

16 is a young adult and effectively grown and people should accept that.

Eh, I'm firmly in the "please stop calling teenagers 'children'" camp, but I disagree with you on this. Like, are you trolling? Because your stance feels extremely over-simplistic to me.

Absolutely. There is a huge difference between “not a child” and “grown” (as meant here). Wow.

Definitely don't agree. I'm not saying they should be treated like children, because they're not. Nor am I trying to shame anyone who thinks 16 is old enough to start having experiences in things like romance, because that is an old enough age for that to be completely normal.

But being "grown" takes more time than 16 years of anyone's life. It's more complicated than that. Nobody is completely mature at that age, emotionally, sexually, or otherwise. But that's okay, because the late teens are a good time to build experience that will lead to that eventual maturity.

Yeah... the only people I see argue this point emphatically are grown-ass adults who want to be able to perv on TEENagers without consequence, and I am never going to agree with that tyvm.

They're not kids, but they're not adults, not by a long shot at that age.
