I really enjoy the worldbuilding in Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series. A lot of sci fi lit seems to be stuck in dystopias lately, and her books have a great balance of optimism and realism. Lots of different cultures and species, and they all have their flaws while not being evil or a monolith.
