I feel like Hollywood still has this very old-fashioned bias that "good-looking" male roles need to be filled by actors who are more conspicuously masculine. It's not 100% of the time, but IMO there's a definite bias, as if Hollywood can't conceive that more androgynous looking men can also be considered extremely attractive.

Yeah, it's mostly straight men in charge in Hollywood. They want to BE the character, not think about how the character could be attractive to women and men who are attracted to men. It's a bummer.

I'm a bi woman and like delicate guys as well as bear dudes, though, so IDK, I'd cast characters to appeal to people who like both.
