I also find obvious fandom names cringe on a personal level - I won't even give them to my pets, much less an actual child - but that seems a bit harsh? I know a few folks who've done that and even spoken to the (teen) kids about it and for the most part they were pretty chill and even liked that they had fairly unique names that weren't just increasingly strange misspellings of "Madison" or whatever? (And yes, these are kids with names more on the "Galadriel" and "Anakin" side of the spectrum, as opposed to things like "Sam" or "Luke" or "Leah.")

Orlando Bloom was pretty, IMO, but I agree with you on nearly all of the other male elves with speaking parts (Haldir was okay, but don't get me started on Elrond), and background elves too.

... but you wouldn't mind if someone else made them for you! As always, including the fandom and full character names is a big help, and I'll try my best to use an appropriate image choice. Er, just to clarify - it's my intention to make all the secrets left in this thread, so even if they're not marked claimed, they will be made.

Valancy’s one of my baby names too for the same reasons. I don’t think it sounds too fandom-ish though. I’ve never met another person IRL who’s even heard of that name or the book.

I guess it depends on the fandom itself.

the ones that really give me whiplash are white people giving very obviously japanese names to their kids like Naruto and Usagi.

A high school friend of mine gave her daughter an old family name as a first name, but gave her the middle name Sakura after the Sakura from Naruto and it just seemed a little weird to me.

Another friend named her baby girl Serena because she loves Sailor Moon, but I think that name’s actually really pretty.
