I also find obvious fandom names cringe on a personal level - I won't even give them to my pets, much less an actual child - but that seems a bit harsh? I know a few folks who've done that and even spoken to the (teen) kids about it and for the most part they were pretty chill and even liked that they had fairly unique names that weren't just increasingly strange misspellings of "Madison" or whatever? (And yes, these are kids with names more on the "Galadriel" and "Anakin" side of the spectrum, as opposed to things like "Sam" or "Luke" or "Leah.")

It's fine to give kids ridiculous fandom names, as long as there's an easy and relatively normal nickname version of the name that they can use if they don't want to use the full fandom version

Just no. I hate this. Fandom names that don't sound like normal names should only be used for pets. Don't burden your kids with something that will lead to bullying just because you think the name is fun. They are people too.

I'm really curious what the kids names are. Are they hyper specific sci fi names or are they real life names that follow a fandom in that context?

There were some fandom names I wanted to name my kids (or give as middle names) because those characters were important to me (that the names are "normal" and don't arouse suspicion unless you really know me helps).

What is annoying is when there's a name I like, and it is a name -- but people think it's a fandom name -- of a fandom I'm not even in!

For those asking, the kids include twins named Khaleesi and Daenerys. They have several children, all with fandom-only names but not all the same fandoms.

At least in my fandoms & character/OC docs that I've come across, there tends to be a character A/OC/character B along with Character A/Character B. And it's usually poly stuff, not bashing "B". It sucks to look for X and get served Y. :/

Well, you weren't exactly wrong, OP - animation does tend to go for blockier lines etc. because it's easier to draw a lot of related frames that flow together that way. It's just more of a side-quality than an essential part of the definition.

But I'm glad you're still thinking through how you define things - that's a really good skill to have.

After trying out a (pregnancy) based game inspired by Harvest Moon, I've realized I like farm-business games as they're actually quite relaxing.

I don't own a Switch, so Harvest Moon & Animal Crossing are out of the question. Still, PC games are good, *especially* if they can be modded.

Which games of the nature do you suggest?
