They're not stopping you from sewing and crafting well, even if they're not as good as you at it.

ayrt. No, and my pieces reflect that but I would like to branch out into things that use full suits of armour, integrated light aspects, and non-modern clothes that can't be bought and I get shot down for suggesting it as too difficult to make and too expensive to buy. It's just getting very frustrating.

It sounds like a you problem. They are in it for the fun, and you seem to be in it for the craftsmanship and "quality". Your frustration isn't on them, so you could just leave them to their fun and find people who want what you want.
