Anything over 7 is a hard pass for me. At that price, I'd rather buy the hard copy.

Otherwise, it really depends. For an author I haven't read before I'm going to spend less than I do for authors whose work I know I enjoy. For a new author, I probably won't go past 4 bucks, and that would have to have a REAL good summary/hook for me to want to buy it, but I have several series I follow where they're at book 10 and I'm cheerfully shelling out 6.99 per book.
