Being realistic about self-publishing and sales is being needlessly cruel and pompous?

Idk why you keep interpreting "your products will have to stand on their own" as "your products are bad," and not "your products will have to stand their own."

"You will have to study for your own test" does not mean "you are stupid." Where are you making this jump?

It read to me as needlessly cruel and pompous. And you doubled down instead of explaining what you meant initially. That's why I fired back. Although, you weren't the person who said what people are allowed to find depressing or not, so that part of the comment wasn't directed at you.

You clarifying with the test example makes a whole lot more sense when applied to your comment, and now I understand what you meant. Mea culpa, my bad, however you want to hear it.
