It really depends tbh. I love a long plotty fic! But if there’s a ship and the burn is super slow I may not finish and instead save it for after I’ve read through everything else in that pairing. Although cat and mouse games for the ship are instant backbutton.

I don’t care much about worldbuilding in fanfic because the world already exists very vibrantly for every fandom I’ve read. But I love lore exploration and I LIVE for character studies. (Yeah, I know.)

But I need action, too. A case, a mission, a canon-typical event of some sort that makes me feel like I’m reading something that adds to the source material.

I see. I get frustrated with slow burn romance honestly.

Those are pretty fun to read. More often than not I like the settings more. Idk i'm weird like that.
