I love long fics. I will gladly read a 500k epic if it has a good plot. Details are great; I love getting into the nitty-gritty because I find that authors that have worked out the nitty-gritty have actually thought about the worldbuilding whereas some shorter fics sometimes get too hand-wavey and they lose me because their worlds don't make any sense.
But I will say, if it's that long it can't be too slow paced. I've started some long fics that I've had to back button because it was 5-10k on single emotional exchanges which I can do as a stand alone but 100k of that gets to be pretty mind-numbing.
