Genuinely can't tell who's supposed to be who besides the long-hair guy who is supposed to be blond but... isn't? There's a short haired blond guy but he's also the shortest when he's supposed to be the tallest? There's one that's supposed to have red hair that's maybe the middle? What's even going on here

B. What is this casting lol. I would have appreciated some at least trying to keep in line hairstyles and height.
C. Beggars can't be choosers, or so they say but it sucks when it's fairly far off the mark lol

The anime is Given and it’s really good! The live action drama . . . not so much.

Seriously though, it's not even like anyone's hair is blue or green or pink or crazy anime colors. Blond or reddish brown is so easy. I'm with OP in that this is just lazy or careless

I’m with you, OP. Live action versions of BL almost always suck. They hardly make any effort to make the characters look like how they’re supposed to look like and they often change the stories for the worst. I watched the whole Given drama and all the random changes annoyed the hell out of me.

For anybody wondering, the characters in the top image are (from left to right): Ritsuka, Mafuyu, Akihiko, and Haruki. The ones in the bottom image are Akihiko, Ritsuka, Mafuyu, and Haruki.

THAT'S supposed to be Akihiko. The hell. That's pretty off.

I'm disappointed in the casting for Akihiko there. He looks more comedic than sexy.

Haruki was probably the only one that came close (minus the hair colour of course).

The silly thing is that if you search for Mafuyu's actor (singer Sanari) there are pictures of him with red hair! Not the same shade, but still...
