What is the fanon version of Lucius?

Among hardcore Lucius fans, there is a tendency to dumb down how evil he is. Also there is a tendency towards fics where once Voldemort is gone, he just steps away from evil and becomes a decent man. Mostly so they can pair him with Harry, Hermione, Ginny, or someone else and make it out to be romantic, not dark and twisted.

But also on the other hand you have Draco fans who want to woobify Draco and do so by making Lucius out to be an abusive father when canonically he spoils Draco and clearly cares for his family. That to me is a large part of what makes him interesting: The Malfoys being this really close family who all love each other, and at the same time being awful and holding these views and Lucius being a death eater. It is a really realistic portrayal, actually. There are a lot of racist families who are very similar to the Malfoys.

Agreed, I love the Malfoys as characters because they're undeniably shitty and cowardly, but they're also a loving family. Lucius and Narcissa are pretty realistic IMO, as opposed to a more "theatrical" villain like Bellatrix.

DA. Yeeees. This is why I love the Malfoys. They're terrible people! Incredible cowards!

But dammit all they love each other and they're going to do ANYTHING for each other and I just can't get enough of it.
