(Anonymous) 2021-09-10 05:58 am (UTC)(link)Anything that's off-'normal' can be considered queer. If the strongest relationship one wants to have includes no sex or conventional romance, then I can see why someone would slap that qualifying word on it. (I mean, I didn't invent the concept, I just use what's already around.)
Um, does that help?

(Anonymous) 2021-09-10 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)That makes sense, but I don't think most people would use "queer" that way and instead think "LGBTQ" and wonder why anyone is using that to modify "platonic" (or using "platonic" to modify "queer"). I don't have a better term for "Completely platonic yet incredibly intense relationship that you organize your life around," mind you. "Hetero Life Partners" only works if both parties are straight and is mostly a joke term, anyway.
"Queer" definitely is not a modifier that means "intense" since queer people can have casual romantic/sexual/platonic relationships and same sex romantic/sexual/platonic relationships can be casual.
