I think I would have liked the word, but when I think of the context where it was popularized (Tumblr), I find it grating. Also, I am aware that it doesn't have to be like that, but it kind of makes me suspect the person who uses it is to ashamed to say "lesbian" or "bisexual". As someone already said - ~~sapphic~~ sounds fancy and is not ~~tainted~~, like being some dirty lesbian. (I'm being ironic here, just to be on the safe side.)
