(Anonymous) 2021-09-12 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)Wouldn't this thread of logic imply that, in a version that's subbed Chinese, the characters are diegetically speaking English, but in a version that's dubbed Chinese, the characters are diegetically speaking fantasy-language-Common?

(Anonymous) 2021-09-12 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)But I'm not arguing from my logic or about my issue, I'm arguing from OP's where they perceive the intent of the creators is "to be inclusive to deaf people (but unfortunately not all deaf people)". The only way around the specific issue OP brings up - the imbalance - is to either translate the animation so every deaf speaker gets a localized version, or to not use specifically ASL.
