Oh, yes. True Blood was pretty terrible in the later seasons, but for some reason you just couldn't stop watching.
And the metaphor was stupid and insulting from the start. Most of the humans in True Blood had very good reasons for being afraid of the vampires. Like, you know, the mind controlling/torturing/murdering that almost all the vampire characters did at some point.

The vampires see humans as prey! As food! Every vampire older than TruBlood (the fictional beverage) is absolutely a murderer.

Yeah, vampires should be used as a metaphor for the privileged not the disadvantaged.

But like Anna Paquin is a cutie patootie and I stuck around way longer than I should have because it was basically an X-Men AU for me.
