Game of Thrones is a veritable fruitcake of a series and I don't think I would attempt doing that, kudos for the effort!

I mostly don't consume video content (thx, ADHD & video motion sickness!) so I do a lot of reading in canons I haven't watched. I need a good intro to the characters and dynamics. Sometimes I can pick it up from a fic or two, the kind that has enough work gone into it that it seems like the author should file off the serial numbers and get herself some sweet sweet cash but so much depends on the original fandom that it might not be possible to completely remove all traces. Sometimes one of my friends gives me a primer and throws me in the deep end (SGA).

Shows which make bad decisions and should feel bad about themselves where fanon takes a hard left turn at Albuquerque are the best to read without context of the show.

If you can’t watch videos, have you tried looking up transcripts? That’s how I got into FIM.
