The pensions monster! I remember this.

In the adverts it was like 10ft tall and walked around the park while people ignored it. Very weird. But yeah, kind of adorable.

SA

For anyone wondering, it’s from the UK

It reminded people that they could ask for their employer to start a pension for them, if they wanted to start being written up on minor infractions in preparation for being fired within three-six months time. Or, if they were on a zero hours contract, suddenly having their hours stopped. Standard Tory party bollocks, in other words.

Yes, because obviously having people know that their employer is legally obligated to provide a pension scheme is terrible because some employers will retaliate against people who claim their legal rights. I mean, I bet there's at least one person who is stuck with the same employer forever thanks to limited opportunities in their area! So therefore nobody should be made aware of new pension regulations, it's all nonsense anyways.

Heaven forbid that we talk about the actual reality of it. People got fired and lost out on money by doing it your way. We're in an evil system that gives employers all the power, and they know and abuse it. The object right now is advice to survive that system and not get crushed by it.
