If that's how it feels to you, that's totally valid. Personally, as an ace person who writes and reads smut, this isn't how I see it at all.

If someone told me they got off on my smut I would be stoked about it for ages, and I say that as someone who is not just ace but also somewhat sex-repulsed. Someone telling me they got off on my fic is not at all repulsive or uncomfortable to me, because they're not getting off on me or trying to get me off or trying to turn me on. They're just complimenting me, in a way that lets me know my smut succeeded with flying colors.

Yeah, it makes me feel like my smut was successful.

I'm writing it because I'm stretching my literary muscles, etc., but it's also erotica and people being aroused by it is sort of the point, just like writing fluff is meant to people feel the warm hug of the story for the protags and scary stories are meant to scare.
