Ramen with boiled sausage and mixed frozen veg in the same cooking pot. Probably put me over the salt allowance for the day too. Have you seen how much salt is in those supermarket ramen packs? Insane. Why do we need so much salt in stuff?

After a day of worse nausea and reflux than usual, dared to try swallowing again and went with a fun-size dark chocolate KitKat with some peanut butter for extra calories, and some tabasco in hopes that it would help my stomach actually digest it. :P

I tried that because a couple weeks ago it was the only thing I'd swallowed in a few days that didn't cause horrible reflux, and sure enough, first thing today that didn't immediately make me regret it for hours.

I need to go shopping tomorrow for food, that was my last meal lol. Anyone have any faves to suggest? I don't hate cooking but I really hate choosing what to eat.

I had a date with my estranged husband at the local Indian restaurant and got a level 4 (out of 5) chicken korma. It was so good but the best part of eating there is always the fresh hot naan! Plus it was really nice to get along with the man I married and expected to spend my life with.

Even worse than being a third wheel. My sister, her fiance, and I were going to dinner. His best friend was in the area and they've not seen each other in a couple years. So he decided to meet up with us with his new girlfriend. I felt so awkward in begged off going to get drinks after dinner. Just depressing I guess. Especially when the people around you are so much more interesting.

Oof, I felt that. Seems whenever I try to show up anywhere, I'm always the one who doesn't "have" people. Even if you're generally comfortable with yourself it really can feel awkward.

Oh lordie, OP, you're in the same boat as I'm about to be tomorrow. I'm going to go to a Halloween event, and I only know a single person there. I sympathize a lot, and hope that others still enjoyed your company a lot.

Yeah, that sucks. I'm sure you're interesting too. I find it's more about connection -- who do you vibe with? Because if there's a good connection, a good vibe, then even if everyone else is a couple, you still chill and have a good time. It also helps if you're all friends, because it will feel far less like a 5th wheel situation and more like friends hanging out

My bestie has a new boyfriend and she's so happy and I love that she's happy.

But he's over liiiiiiiterally every night, he stays the weekend, he even canceled guys night tonight to hang out with her and I'm just tired of it. I'd like to be able to talk to my bestie. Spend time with my bestie. It's so frustrating because I get that she's got a hot thing going on and I don't want to interfere but at the same time I've managed to talk to her for thirty minutes in the last two weeks when we used to talk almost every night and it makes me feel lonely and a bit abandoned. I wouldn't expect her to talk every night or anything while she's dating but... like... I don't feel like wanting more than 30 minutes of her time in two weeks is asking too much. :/

Tbh it's making me resent this dude and I haven't even met him yet. Which the makes me feel bad for being grumpy but I just miss my bestie?

On top of the health problems that are making it impossible for me to do stuff that I can't do while lying in bed, my first job 25 years ago gave me tendonitis in my hands and fingers due to typing 8-16 hours a day. It's never actually gone away, and every year when the weather gets colder, it amps right back up again.

So now my hands are stiff and hurt, and so the few pastimes I can still enjoy while lying in bed - writing fic and playing video games - also are a miserable experience. It's pissing me off, especially since I'm 60,000 words into a fic I've been wanting to write for something like 15 years.

Also, my job. AUGH. The people I work directly with are largely awesome, but because someone in charge decided that we should pay for this one web app to do some of our jobs for us, I've been working with one of the VPs on a project using it, and this morning we may have hit a wall with a limitation on it that we didn't know existed until we tried something and it failed. None of us can find a way around it. So I should've been done with my work week at noon, was online discussing and answering emails till five, and tomorrow I need to be available in case someone does find a fix because this problem prevented us from sending a few hundred emails that were scheduled to go out "Wednesday, or maybe Thursday, whenever I get the data".

I feel guilty about taking a four day weekend when I've just been sucking shit at work. I'll be checking in (I know, fuck off of work when you're off the clock, but the last three weeks have just been a shit show) tomorrow in case something explodes, but I still feel bad because everything's changing and I feel like I should have gotten my shit together enough to at least prepare a proper response plan for those filling in for me. But it just seems like there's no time. I just feel like they changed shit without a good transition or backup plan and if anything goes south, it's on me and I hate it.

On the bright side, I guess, four day weekend. I can only hope I get other shit done and that my time off doesn't suck.

It's October and the goddamn cockroaches still won't die fast enough. I don't want the 40s to hit and I'm still being terrorized by these little fucks.
