Submit them anyway! I say that as someone who has missed some of the biggest FS dramas over the years because I skip threads for fandoms I don’t know and even sometimes if I’ve seen a lot of the same fandom.
But your secrets can spark others either in your same fandom or in other ones :)

I keep thinking I should make some to help out too, but...

1: I got some really nasty comments (like the "I hope you die" kind) on the last one I submitted, including from people who were signed in and whom I had had positive interactions with in the past, and although it was partly my own fault for phrasing things poorly in the secret (I suck at communicating AND there was context I hadn't mentioned), it was... kind of intimidating.
2: These days I'm really only in one fandom and no one else here is in it as far as I know - and since there is hardly any fandom left for it at all, there's not much to have opinions about, hahah.
3: I dunno, I've reached a point in my life where I don't give a crap about keeping secrets. I have so much more to stress about than what people think of my opinions about something like fictional characters or fannish activities. So I keep thinking of making a secret and then going "Nah, I'll just say it openly."

Thanks - and yeah I'm fine. It was like 8-9 years ago I think, given the screenshot I used as a background and when I was into that fandom (and still having the fandom-related issue with a person with whom I have since made peace).

Just, you know, I took some time away, and though I started commenting on posts again last year, it took me forever to post logged in again, and still haven't had the nerve to submit secrets, lest I inadvertently say something that comes off as far more awful/judgy/whatever than I intended. I just am very bad at choosing words, I think.

Thank you for making secrets, OP. I think some of the problem is that a lot of FS regulars, self included, are fans of such disparate stuff in small/obscure/dying fandoms that there's not enough of us who are into any one thing to really blow up the comments, so the only threads that get a ton of replies and engagement are started by bigots, trolls, or plain old assholes.

The solution isn't more controversy for its own sake, but idk. I'm grateful to secret makers, whether they're making their own or other's secrets.

I try to think of secret ideas about everything I read or watch, but sometimes I just think "eh, whatever," about something, and unless that something is either beloved or hated on FS, posting that it was just okay isn't much of a secret.

I'd post more secrets but... you guys already know all of my secrets! As much as I still like fannish media, I've fallen out of fandom to the point that I have no idea what counts as an unpopular opinion anymore and thus I haven't had many new secrets in ages. I'm actually sitting on one or two I haven't had time to make. I'll try to get one in for next week.

You're doing your bit, is what counts.

If you need a help, then just click on the random button on TVtropes and pick whatever it lands on and write an "I think character X from this show is an asshole" and add in one of the trope entries to justify it. It'll work.

I've never seen this, but I spent a minute or so reading the trope page and:

"Camp Scare is easily the worst of the Scooby Doo animated movies, if it isn't Luke being the worst Marty Stu ever, it is Trudy being the most exaggerated emo girl ever put on screen. S!B: Everyone I know loves this movie, and would give me shit if I ever mentioned it to them. B!S: I actually liked the idea of the bad guy posing as one of the kid campers though, I have no idea what that says about me."

Slap a Scooby Logo on the text, and you're done. You could pretty much crank out a dozen secrets a week with that formula. If you get stuck on anything, that is.

Most of the threads are deducible from context. And contributors aren't the most original folks to start with. I've taken part in tonnes of threads where I didn't know what people were talking about and managed to bluff it just fine.
