I know this isn't the point (I'm not in the fandom and know nothing) but why would robots kiss? They don't have nerves in their lips.

Transformers (cybertronians) aren't REALLY robots, they are mechanical aliens (except in some continuities where they are build, but they feel things there too). They probably have their own version of "nerves" and mostly likely do feel things! (A better reason of "why kiss?" would be the fact that most of them don't have faces)

They only don't have faces because some total psycho, who wasn't Megatron for once, came up with a "punishment" that involved lopping faces off people.

Only in IDW, and not all of them, some just don't have faces, like Tailgate.

Because, on occasion they are very emotional robots.

Transformers run the gamut from seeming as frozen as absolute zero, to running hot and cold ( Starscream, of course ) to having very fiery natures.

IMHO, almost all Transformers have faces, albeit very unusual alien ones. Even the ones with no visible mouths nuzzle other robots when they feel like it, and there are other ways to express emotion besides being able to use a mouth.

I don't ship 'em (though I understand why a lot of people would, it makes sense), but that's because (in Transformers Prime, at least), I was the freak who shipped Starscream/Knock Out. The episode "Thirst" was made for me back then!
