This isn't a new song dude. This is an old song that is more or less universally loved by her fans, and they've been asking for the extended version for years. She's not releasing this stuff because of Jake, she's doing it because she knows her fans will lap it up and she's right.

I legit haven't heard one of her songs in years, because I don't listen to the radio in my car and I only watch the music vids on youtube I want. It's so easy to ignore anything I want these days.

I'm a pretty big fan of her and her music, and even I don't see a ton of stuff about her unless I actively look for it. Which is not me complaining; I prefer it that way.

I have never heard one of her songs (that I’m aware) but I see her mentioned constantly on social media. So yeah it may be easy to not listen to her music but that doesn’t mean it’s as easy to block out everything to do with her. And if her stans aren’t being shitty on social media she does something to drum up more media coverage. Totally inescapable, unfortunately.

You would think so, but I have nothing to do with any Taylor conetnet online, but I'm very into movies, and whenever Jake Gyllenhal appears anywhere to support his sister (who has made a recent directorial debut that's been screening on faviour festivals), some Taylor fans appear tos ay sth about him and scarfs and what not xD

oh man, I'm a huge TS criticizer and except for the fact that her stans are ridiculous (and I do think she should tell them to simmer hte hell down), this doesn't seem so OTT for her that I think she's crossed a line.

All Too Well 10 min is a bad song tho, just thematically confused in a way that makes the whole thing worse. The video was lovely tho!

Sort of but not really. I would say it's more that (at least during her peak period) her relationships and her reputation as a celebrity were an important part of the paratext of her songs. But most of her songs have nothing to do with her relationships at all.

The majority of her songs are about romantic relationships, in some capacity. Crushes, falling in love, being in love, settling down with someone, falling out of love, getting hurt in love, feeling betrayed, ungrounded fantasies, missing someone, being scared that it won't work out, moving on, etc.

A fair few are about break-ups, but only a small number are about the men she broke up with.

I don't think her songs are more relationship-focused than the majority of mainstream artist's songs are. I think the main difference is that her songs are diaristic in nature, which tends to lead to people engaging with them slightly differently. Taylor Swift's writing process, most of the time, is not, "I want to write a love song. How shall it go?" Her process is, "I want to write about this particular feeling I have, or this particular aspect of a breakup that I've been musing on. I'm going to start unpacking that kernel, musical-diary style."

I do think her break-up songs can be a bit more blamey than some artists. She has a few songs where she takes responsibility for messing up in a relationship, but they're the minority. Her main weakness as a writer, IMO, is that she isn't good at writing both recrimination and self-blame in the same song. She tends to write either one or the other, which is almost inherently less complex. But in all fairness, pop is not a genre know for its subtlety. The more subtle and complex her songs get, the less pop they get, partially by design, but also somewhat by default.

I am envious of people who do not see her content. I've unsubscribed from her fans, but somehow they keep appearing. I've blocked all the tags I could think of but still see this fucking bland face. At least I do not hear her music I think I wouldn't know
