My husband and I are off work all week so I've been taking it easy. I made a pumpkin pie (it's in the oven now), went for a long walk, had a snack (pineapple cake and jasmine iced tea), smoked a bowl, and now I'm watching college basketball. We're going out for sushi tonight, yay!!!

work and then chilling with Animal Crossing when I get home. I started building a waterfall this morning on the way to work, I bet I'm gonna hate it later bc I suck at terraforming.

Weirdly busy day at work, now finishing up cooking dinner. I hope it doesn't suck.

Maybe will game a little later, idk.

Dealing with my inability to handle how much my puppies want to escape the part of the house I have them confined to, in favor of escaping and shitting on every possible surface instead.

Help.

I slept basically all day.

Which is good, since it's the first time in a week I've actually slept properly, aside from one day last week when I took a sleep aid (which I don't like to do)...

took a walk, crossing my fingers that every time I say "the last walk of the season" I get another 50-degree day to prove me wrong. then went to Joann Fabrics to see if there was anything worth buying. spoilers, the answer is no.

now I don't have to leave the house for at least three days, so it's time for rum and lap cats keeping me warm.

Forgot some recipe items for holiday cooking tomorrow and braved the PACKED grocery store. Good grief, it was crazy. Luckily only needed rolls, more butter, and milk.

And deli fried chicken, which was delicious!

Making pumpkin pie tonight.

Had to pick up a few last minute groceries this morning, was amazed Trader Joe wasn't super crowded. Now slightly bugged i can't find my scalloped oysters recipe.

Rushed to get 3 days of work done in 1. Came home and tried to nap but didn't get very far.

More goddamn thanksgiving cooking, now with added houseguests. They’re actually nice and I usually enjoy this part, but the last few weeks have been difficult and what I want more than anything is to just be left the hell alone. I don’t want to cook this food and I don’t want to eat it, especially not while making conversation.

Counting the days until the end of the month when I’ll hopefully finally have a week to myself.

Woke up at 6 and got to work so I can get my hours in this week before forced holiday off without pay. No coffee because I had a zoom meeting at 10 and would have to talk aloud, so eating/drinking anything beyond what I needed to get my meds down was a bad idea.

I spent three or four freaking hours after that trying to figure out why this thing I was fixing for zoom meeting person wasn't sending email notifications, when everything I have ever built using this system sent email notifications no problem. Turns out that this was because everything else I ever built was (short version) in a secondary tier of this app, and the secondary tiers were all configured properly. The top tier? No one ever bothered to do email configuration, so it was like "Yes certainly I will resend your email notification! Yessir, it has been sent (from the blank field you specified)!" and it took me forever to figure out that it wasn't a problem in my logic - the emails weren't being sent because there was nowhere to send them from.

I considered just faceplanting in bed at 5pm (after informing my boss who was out sick but still on Discord that uh, maybe we should have configured that and do you want me to?) but figured I'd relax with Animal Crossing. Saw who was on the resort beach, figured out who I'd design a house for tonight, went in to see Dottie and she's sick and the game picked someone for me to design a very pink karaoke bar for instead of what I was hoping to do. :/ It turned out better than I expected but I'm still kind of annoyed.

Supposed to have a doctor's appointment this morning, but they had no record of it. Rescheduled for December 2. But I went to an urgent care center, because my hip is in too much pain to wait until Dec. 2. They took x-rays and gave me a steroid injection and steroid pills to take. It feels a little bit better from the injection, we'll see.

I watched some Youtube vids (some music, some Steven Colbert clips, some top ten lists from Ms. Mojo) and read some Far Side comics.

Made cornbread and mashed potatoes for a work potluck, but I left work early to pick up some stuff for an event this weekend. I'm tired, but I should be able to sleep in tomorrow and maybe Friday too.

I think I'll soak beans tonight to make soup tomorrow. My aunt invited me to Thanksgiving with her family at the last minute, but I'm too tired to be good company, and I have a temp crown in so I'd just hog the mashed potatoes. Plus almost everyone is vaccinated, but I wouldn't be able to stay civil to the one antivaxxer in the bunch.

I'll have my permanent crown by Christmas and have Christmas Eve and day both off, so I'll make lots of food then to make up for my absence--salad and other crisp and crunchy things, probably.

I'm still recovering from this damn cold. I got some decongestant that was nice (but it tastes AWFUL)

Luckily I have a 36 pack of mountain dew in my closet I've been using. I just slept a lot during the day then worked on writing and talked with friends in the evening. I should probably find and charge my ipod. Damn it that thing cost $300.

But yeah just chilling.

Working. Trying to get more work done because I was sick through yesterday. But I'm also having fun which I shouldn't be doing lol

Getting ready for Thanksgiving at a relative's house.

Went grocery shopping and am planning to watch the Hawkeye episodes that just dropped the other night. I'm really looking forward to them! The series looks fun.

I know there are a few here. Are hobbits (more specifically Baggins hobbits) the only people able to resist the One Ring for long amounts of time?

If Bilbo had taken the ring when he first got it and gone to Mordor to throw is away, would he had have as much trouble as Frodo? Had Saruman already started building an orc army that would have been hunting for the ring?

I am reading a Hobbit fic that has me wondering how probably things were.
