I mean, yeah. I don't think this is spicy at all.
MCU is not GREAT cinema, but I believe all the movies in the franchise are at least decent with some really good entries and enjoyable for the average audience.
I haven't seen some of the last movies, but I bet it's more of the same with different characters/plotlines.
I think some people are burned out of MCU and they're harsher on it, but the overall quality is constant. Some movies are better, some are worse.

I enjoyed the MCU and thought it was overall really good right up to Endgame. I almost completely lost interest after that, just because for me it felt kind of...done (and also Tony and Steve were #1 and #3 on my list of favorite MCU characters). However, I still feel inclined to agree with this comment, because I just feel like the MCU has a ridiculously high batting average for making fun movies with characters I genuinely care about, and I don't think it deserves anywhere near the amount of derision and dismissal it gets.

Mickey isn’t responsible for things that Disney does and people should stop using him as a face of blame i.e when someone says “the mouse” when they mean the Disney company

I like it because it's such the antithesis of how Walt wanted his legacy to be remembered that he complained about being known for having created a mouse to an employee before he died. So I see as a fuck you to Walt Disney.

I love Mickey, so I agree. But people have been using him as the face of Disney while criticizing it for decades, so it absolutely won’t stop anytime soon. My father always called it “feeding the rat”, and that was way before Disney was the monopoly it is now(he was referring to all the money Disney makes at their parks).

It wasn't the real estate bust that killed malls, it wasn't helicopter parents, it wasn't Amazon, it wasn't woke lazy teens on their cellular telephones screens, it wasn't the pandemic, it wasn't the boomers getting too old old to mall walk, it wasn't any of that; it was forty years of running the global economy into the ground with stagnant wage growth that killed it. But also it was totally ALIENS!

I think internet shopping is probably at least 50% of what's "killing" malls, but I do agree with you that running the economy into the ground has also played a pretty significant part. I mean, according to CNN about 1/3rd of new stores that opened in the US in 2021 have been dollar stores. Fucking yikes.

Explaining what new MCU characters were doing during Thanos' invasion is their version of explaining what a man in the 1940's was doing if he wasn't in the army. I don't know how I feel about this except how every 50s movie makes sure to mention how its protagonist interacted with WWII and I'm not tired of it but it stands out.

UM

I also think the Blip/Snap has the potential to be the best metaphor for Covid/the last two years that modern movies will be able to pull off. There's this terrible, long lasting thing that effected everyone and left many people worse off and separated from everyone else BUT they don't have to talk about it or set it up. Which is nice because I don't like thinking, or reading, or knowing about the pandemic. But also I want a world that has to deal with that trauma otherwise I'll feel some contempt for characters and their problems because FUCK THEM they don't know how good they've got it. Like how I really can't watch West Wing after 2001 even though I don't really want more 9/11 in my media.

But also Disney will squander it just like they squandered all of the cool stuff from the comics, and that shit was spelled out and done on purpose. My absolute worst take!

I liked the Burly Brawl in The Matrix Reloaded.
The uncanny valley-ness and video game look of it emphasizes that Neo and Agents Smith are fighting in a computer program and moving faster than the program can process them.

You said "spicy," so I have to do this one. High Guardian Spice is bad, but not as bad as fandom says. The only things that make it worse than the average "meh" show are the voice acting and the strawman cishet guys, but they don't stay around for long anyway. And I give it a C+ for effort with the gay and trans rep.
