It's probably not how you're envisioning it OP, but I would absolutely love a movie where Clark Kent is doing his investigative shit and the entire time he's having to avoid giving away his identity in increasingly humorous ways. I like him as Superman just fine, but I also think seeing him do the whole 'how do fellow humans' thing could be a good concept for a comedy.

But what's the point? Even an adaptation in name only should try to take something from the source material, even if it's only thematic or aesthetic. At this point, where you get rid of the basic conceit of WOT, you're just asking for a completely new different fantasy series. Which is fine, not everything has to be for everyone, but it's just kind of baffling why you would even call it an adaptation then.

I’m starting to get that way with things titled like “12 things science has found under ice”. Half the time I already know which 12 things they are, the other half barely holds any new information since the discovery. It’s kinda frustrating that nothing has moved beyond point A in like half a decade, and sometimes it’s doctored photos that have been through some rando’s photoshop.

Because that completely new different fantasy series is not going to get made unless it already has a guarenteed money-making franchise name behind it.

I find it unnecessary but I don't see a reason to hate it. It's often surrounded by bad writing but not always, and when its present in an otherwise fine story it's not inherently bad. Like for example if a story were about someone's insecurity about dick size, or someone's dick being abnormally large and having to work around it then why not include it if it's relevant?

It's just jarring if the whole story has gone without any concrete measurements or detailed descriptions of anything else and then suddenly the penis was 6.333 inches, repeating of course, that it gets like lol

Also if you're gonna get that detailed about length then damn you might as well get into penis circumference because I'm imagining a long thin noodle of no measurable or remarkable girth
